  1. @CyclingMikey You’re right, I have no answer for cars being slower than bicycles in big cities. I agree with you on that 100%. Although I would rather be sitting comfortably in my skyline waiting in traffic than peddling myself around with a seat stuck halfway up my ass. Whatever floats your boat though. What surprised me is that you don’t believe I own a skyline, especially because you are from the UK, I thought you would know more about these things.

  2. @colouredbills It’s you that has no credibility. Nothing but an internet trouser mouth who needs car status to big up the size of your small willy.

Just like you have no answer for cars being slower than bicycles in big cities.

  3. @CyclingMikey Thats like me saying I doubt you own one of these gay light wheels

    Comment by colouredbills — December 30, 2011 @ 10:51 am

  4. @colouredbills Nice car, but I doubt you actually own one. Even if you did, you’d be the slow vehicle in most big cities, not my bicycle.

  5. @CyclingMikey of course an old fashioned brit would love cycling. Im sorry, I drive a 400+HP Nissan Skyline R33. My gearbox alone could buy 3 of your slow bicycles :)

  6. @colouredbills LOL @ ur ignorance. Cyclists tend to earn much more than the average - 6 out of 10 Boris Bikers in London earn more than £50,000pa, for example. My front wheel is probably worth more than your car.

  7. @gaijininja Well, good lights are likely to have perhaps 10,000 times better effect on your safety than a helmet. ;)

  11. @JoostShino

It’s not about the weight of the bike itself as much as the wheel strength I guess. My friend put one on each Easton road bike wheel and they fucked his wheels pretty bad.

But anyway, I don’t plan on arguing with anybody.
    Ride safe!

  12. @sharkyrol Interestingly we use pretty much the same front and rear lights. Sadly as proven in the past they did not do enough for me. I ride a Rockrider 8.0, which w eighs around 15kg with all the gear ive got on it and I dont seem to have any problems with imbalance, I very rarely notice they are on my bike, just put them nearer to the hub if you do. They are a great help for me.
    Lets just agree to disagree,

  13. @JoostShino

I use some knogg like lights attached to my rear hub and they work great for visibility. I use a Blackburn front light too. Trust me, I don’t mind weight on my bike and I need visibility but using Monkeylectric lights will render your wheels untrue if you don’t have them paired on a wheel. It’s simple physics.
I cycle in a 3+ million habitants city with 500k cars going around everyday. Trust me. Highly unfriendly.

    Comment by sharkyrol — December 30, 2011 @ 4:50 pm

  14. @sharkyrol I’ve been hit by a car twice last year. I bike in a very unfriendly environment. 300 grams vs a broken neck… mmm hard choice. Oh and its actually only 110 grams, that includes batteries. Go and be a elitist prick somewhere else, your kind is ruining cycling.

  17. Anybody who thinks attaching 300grams worth of plastic on his spokes is a good idea must really hate his wheels.

  21. @KendrickSF I’m planning on getting 08 of these lights myself for my next bicycle purchase and i’m something of a loner type.Besides lighted spokes along with head and rear lights gives your bicycle 360 degrees of lighted visibility-somethin spoke reflectors don’t provide.

  25. make the lights appear to freeze into one position, and have the lights show a photo, like Mona Lisa

  26. Uhm. People. Don’t go crazy paying 700$ for lights. Just check out the nightrider minewt series or the Lumintrek TrailBlazer TB-1000 which has 1000 lumens and only for 100$ with a included helmet mount. I’ll make a review on these lights for u to see.

  32. all lights and i stand corrected you can be sure come straight from china or that area where wages are low..then just branded with light and motion or lupine stickers etc…
the supernova which is german cost 1000euro for twin lights…is it worth it well i dunno….when the battery runs out in 2 to 3 yrs and you need a new one how much of that 1000euro will it take to buy one…

    Comment by scottstrike10 — December 31, 2011 @ 2:01 am

  33. @Widowmaker7777 i agree with you,,,almost all bike light are very simply made and cheaply made but add the battery and the price is too high.for the money some cost you would expect light similar to a hid car headlight etc but thats not what you get..most light id say only cost about 50/100 euro then add the battery which cost 500/700 euro then your in to silly money for what really is only a 100 euro light.

    Comment by scottstrike10 — December 31, 2011 @ 3:01 am

  34. From what I have see online so far.. All these lights are way over priced.. All these light are made fairly cheap.. but some of these lights are not high in price cause to the light.. but for the b atteries that come with them

  35. Who do you think I am, a Millionaire?

    Comment by 861147 — December 31, 2011 @ 4:09 am

  36. You do get what you pay for. You can make a light yourself with off-the-shelf LEDs but it won’t work nearly as well as one of these. Light & Motion engineers excellent lenses that make efficient use of the light, putting it where you need it. Hopefully pricing will come down soon however since $700 is a lot of coin.

    Comment by scottyvnc — December 31, 2011 @ 4:23 am
